Travis County ESD No. 9

Westlake Fire StationWelcome to our website. The Westlake Fire Department, also known as Travis County Emergency Services District No. 9, was created to address the growing needs of the District in fire protection and primary emergency medical care. The Department protects a community of approximately 15,000 citizens and covers approximately 15 square miles and serves the cities of Rollingwood, West Lake Hills, and unincorporated areas of Rolling Hills West, Westwood, Camelot, Rob Roy, St. Stephens, Rivercrest and Riverhills. The Westlake Fire Department consists of over 30 career professionals. These professionals provide services in the following areas: structural fire suppression, wildland fire fighting, EMS first response services, technical rescues (including  rope, water and vehicle rescues).

The Department operates two fire stations located at 1295 South Capital of Texas Hwy and 1109 Westlake Dr. The District Office is located next to Fire Station 902 at 1301 S. Capital of Texas Hwy, Suite B-123.

Outdoor Burning in Travis County

The Travis County Commissioners Court  has issued a Burn Ban effective May 11, 2022. Outdoor burning is  not allowed in the unincorporated areas of Travis County.

Outdoor burning will be allowed in Travis County ESD No. 9 by permit only. To obtain a burn permit please apply online at www.wfdpermits.com. A Fire Department official will set up an appointment to come out and conduct a site inspection.

It is recommended to apply for a burn permit three to five days prior to the desired commencement of the burn.

Outdoor burning is always prohibited in the cities of Austin, Rollingwood and West Lake Hills.
